CG United Wraps Up 2025 Summer Internship Programme with Cross- Jurisdictional Innovation and Impact

CG United Insurance has concluded another successful year of its Group-wide Summer Internship Programme, which spanned six jurisdictions including Bermuda, Cayman, The Bahamas, Barbados, Trinidad, and Jamaica. Locally, the interns selected for this year’s programme were Thea Brathwaite, Kaitlyn Croney, Yeshua Hil, Keira Harris, N’Veya King and Keiana President. For eight weeks, the interns immersed themselves in an authentic and comprehensive professional experience designed to mirror the pace and purpose of CG United’s professional environment.

This year’s programme once again highlighted CG United’s commitment to fostering young talent and investing in the communities it serves. Interns worked across a wide range of departments, benefited from mentoring by CG professionals, participated in educational sessions led by company leaders, and engaged in meaningful community service.

A cornerstone of the programme is the Group-Wide Intern Project, which unites interns from all participating islands to tackle a complex, real-world challenge. Working as a fully independent, self-led team, the interns research, develop, and ultimately present their solutions to CG’s executive leadership, gaining hands-on experience in cross border collaboration, critical thinking, and professional presentation.

Each year’s project explores a timely issue facing the insurance industry. Past cohorts have tackled topics such as attracting and retaining the next generation of decision-makers, leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance customer experience and profitability, and designing flexible, forward-thinking insurance products. This summer, the focus turned to fraud in the insurance industry, with interns examining areas such as detection, prevention, and client education to deliver regionally informed recommendations.

Naz Farrow, Chief Executive Officer of Coralisle Group Ltd., emphasised the value of the programme, stating “our internship programme isn’t about shadowing, it’s about showing up and making an impact. The Group-Wide Intern Project brings that to life, empowering our interns to lead, collaborate across borders, and develop ideas that reflect the future of our industry. This programme spans multiple markets but operates with a single purpose: to support and learn from the next generation of leaders across our entire Group.”

Each office also hosted its own tailored intern experience, including community volunteer days and in-person development sessions on topics such as financial literacy, ESG, career branding, legal compliance, and cyber security. Whether presenting to executives, supporting their departments, or engaging in team building activities, each intern had the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and build lasting skills.

“My internship here at CG United has supported my development as a student, and prepared me to flourish in the work environment,” said Thea Brathwaite, one of this year’s participants. “It has educated me about time management, enhanced my communication abilities and taught me business etiquette, which I believe are great contributions to my personal and professional development.”

The CG Summer Internship Programme continues to evolve each year, but its core purpose remains unchanged: to provide a professional, inclusive, and empowering environment for young talent across the region.
